Short post today. Found this about an hour ago in a book I picked up a thrift shop back in Fall. All I can say is YES!! So much YES to this...I posted something about a year ago on Facebook pretty similar, but the author of the book put it so much better than I ever could..

Solid evidence of why I'm not crazy for strongly preferring the Kids(girls 7-14) section over any other department at Target: PART II
For those of you who are new (or joining "us" for the first time) I have this ongoing obsession/theory about kiddie clothes being WAY cuter and more fashionable than most items sold in adult/juniors stores/departments. If the "Part II" thing seems confusing check out this post I made from the beginning of January. That should clear things up a little... Okay cool, now that were all caught up! I went to Target today and spent like over an hour shopping in the girls (7-14) kiddie department. I never even glanced (let alone went into) the woman's department, haha. I love most kiddie stores/sections but Target's specifically is consistently amazing. The stuff they have is just sooo kawaii and fun. As far as sizes go I wear a girls XL at Target and I'm a Medium in adult clothes... I have a butt and hips so I can do jeans there, but I can wear all the tops (I actually sometimes can do just a Large instead of XL in their graphic tees) leggings, skirts, dresses. You'd be shocked how big some kids clothing lines run (I know I totally was!) Here are a bunch of my favorite items that they have there right now.
Watermelon, Pineapple and Ice Cream Cone Headbands
Unicorn One Piece Swim Suit (or Bodysuit)
Pink Zebra Dress
(I'm purposely not posting a pic of the entire dress out of protest, because as cute as the fabric is the cut/style of the dress really wasn't that impressive)
Little Mermaid Tee 1
Butterfly Dress with Peterpan Collar
(Really loved this!)
My Little Pony Socks
My Little Pony Romper
(I was so beyond stoked that this turned out to be a romper because at first glance I thought it was a dress. It's way cuter as a romper)
Pastel Unicorn SocksLittle Mermaid Tutu Dress
Little Mermaid Tee 1
Little Mermaid Tee 2
Pink Flamingo Tee
Rainbow Tie Dye One Piece Swimsuit (Or Bodysuit)
Ninja Turtles Tee
Blue Rainbow Chevron Boob One Piece Swimsuit
Blue Sheer Flamingo Button-up Blouse
Donut Mini Backpack
Watermelon Bikini top (or sleeveless crop top)
That's all I got! Thanks for reading guys and I hope you are all enjoying your weekend!

Labels have become the norm. We label each other in a desperate attempt for understanding. It sucks to be labeled negatively by other people, hell it sucks to be labeled at all. Especially when there are so many facets to who we are. none of us are JUST one thing(I think I've mentioned that in the past.) In my experience the most dangerous thing about being labeled (in general, but especially by our peers) is how we start to believe (and therefore become) those one dimensional definitions.
Thoughts are so powerful, what we think, we become. That being said the good news is; we live in a world where the only true thing that can ever possibly stop us from getting what we want or being who we want be is our own mind. And the limitations that we TELL ourselves that we have. Once we know who we are (but also who we are not.) the labels given to us by others have no power anymore. They become exactly what they are, completely irrelevant.

Pink Fluffy G1 My Little Pony Slide Sandals
I was showing pics of my "offensive word headbands" to my dad's friend. When I showed him the "Anal" headband he said "Aw, why not Oral??" My family/families friends are so fucked up (I love it!)
Cigarette Shoulder Bag.
This is the bag at the almost half way point(almost done! and I will post pics of it finished!) I've been keeping it outside (for scent reasons) when I'm not working on it. When it's done I will put a few coats of Mod Podge on it to *hopefully* keep my home from stinking up!
Rainbow Splatter *Paint* Ballet Flats
(I actually used nail polish to do this, not paint..but yeah.)
Fluffy Mermaid Doll Headband
Pink Holographic Sequin & Fluffy Strawberry Slide Sandals
Which ones do you guys like better? Sincerely curious! Def leave your fav in the comments! :)
I made this out of an old pair of light wash mom jeans. This took awhile((I hate(!!!) sewing- so I stay away from it if I can help it.)).. I worked on it off and on for a few weeks. I sewed it, studded/bejeweled it, "fluffied" it and even dyed the denim a teal-ish blue/green. It's hard to see the actual color in the pic :'(
This is exciting for me; Fellow stylist Michael Kozak emailed me a few weeks ago requesting to *pull some of my headbands and accessories for an editorial he was styling for photographer Jamie Nelson. (above is a pic of some of the headbands I sent him) Don't know which mag the editorial will be in yet, but both Michael and Jamie have very impressive portfolios and have work in a lot of well known international magazines. Very very excited about this.
(*pulling is basically like designers letting a stylist borrow some of their pieces for an editorial shoot. In exchange for letting them pull they get exposure/credit from whichever magazine the editorial gets published in.)
This is just a little pic of my work area that I took a few weeks ago, haha.
Hope you guys are having an amazzzzing week! Friday tomorrow! woooot.
Be safe! xx
